This program combines the discipline of data analysis with creative thinking to enable the forward-looking, innovative hospitality leaders of tomorrow.
You will gain exposure to the industry throughout, culminating in a six-month internship or Capstone project.
Term 1
Learn the fundamentals of digital technology and innovation in the sector, how to increase revenue and create value, the latest industry trends, technology in operations and artificial intelligence. Includes an optional four-week decoding bootcamp to boost your technical acumen.
Term 2
You discover how to apply the latest technologies in a hospitality setting, devise strategies for revenue optimization through digital marketing and learn about new business models, before finding out how to lead and innovate in the industry. Includes an optional business field trip that allows you to network with industry leaders.
Real-world business experience
After the first two academic terms, you get the chance to apply your learning in the real world through either a six-month internship or by taking part in a Capstone project.
Internship
Working for a recognized hospitality industry big-hitter in digital marketing or revenue management, the internship is a chance to understand first hand how to use the latest digital technologies in a hospitality setting. Your performance and progress are evaluated by your host company, while learning outcomes are appraised by Les Roches faculty.
Capstone project
The Capstone project involves working alongside your peers in small groups and undertaking a consulting-style project with one of our industry partners. You will receive weekly supervision by faculty and get the chance to further hone your entrepreneurial side in a business setting.
At the end of the project, you will be assessed on outcomes against objectives along with your personal contribution. Most projects produce a viable product on completion and many result in employment opportunities for participants.
Business field trip
At the end of academic Module 2, you will have the opportunity to put theory into practice in an immersive business field trip, providing real-world context for all the topics studied to that point.
You will travel to a hospitality-rich destination city (previous field trips have included Amsterdam and Paris) where you will meet and network with leading industry figures from traditional hotels to the latest disruptors.
During the trip, you will see how innovation and revenue management work hand in hand, experience travel in a business context and meet some of the start-ups operating around the margins of hospitality.
