FAQs

What is a diploma in food and beverage management?

A Diploma in F&B Entrepreneurship and Management at Les Roches is a one semester (six months) study program that looks at food & beverage (F&B) operations from the ground up, with modules dedicated to concept development, marketing, customer service, and much more.

You’ll discover how F&B provides a crucial revenue stream to many hotels, as well as being an attractive platform for entrepreneurship through standalone restaurants and bars. The diploma program includes a business field trip and, at the end of your taught semester, you will undertake a six-month professional internship or applied project.

What career opportunities are available after completing a diploma in food and beverage management?

Our postgraduate diploma offers the perfect foundation for an exceptionally wide array of career paths. For example, you may wish to establish your own business, for which modules such as ‘Entrepreneurship Mindset, Innovation and Value Creation’ will provide essential knowledge.

Alternatively, you may wish to pursue a corporate career directing hotel F&B services, or managing within the wider F&B sector – including within commercial and institutional catering services. In this case, modules such as ‘Food & Beverage Management Essentials’ will set you on the right path.

For career-focused students, the entrepreneurial modules will also be extremely useful in a fast moving and highly competitive industry, where possession of an entrepreneurial mindset is much prized.

What are the benefits of studying a diploma in food and beverage management?

Having a specialized diploma demonstrates to prospective employers that you’ll arrive with a solid foundation of F&B industry knowledge, enabling you to hit the ground running. With intense competition for the best roles, this could prove your unfair advantage in the job market.

Equally, if you have entrepreneurial ambitions within the F&B sector, what you learn with Les Roches should prove invaluable in avoiding the strategic and operational missteps that derail a high proportion of new businesses in their early years.
