Across one intensive year of study you will learn on campus and on location, with academic modules that build a complete picture of the global sports and events industry.

The curriculum includes:

Semester 1

Learn how sport functions as a global business, including the economics of sports events at all levels. Additionally, you will take a deep dive into sports marketing, with a special focus on brand building and analyzing consumer behavior.

Semester 2

Broadening your scope of study towards international sporting events and federations, you will learn more about governance and stakeholder management, while also tackling ethical considerations and developing your leadership toolbox.

As a Master’s in event management alongside sports, the secrets of successful event execution will form a key portion of your second semester studies.

A business field trip builds your knowledge and network, while you can opt to complete your program with a professional internship or Applied Project.

Business field trips and Immersive local business trips

Students will embark on a transformative journey to Abu Dhabi, where they will engage with industry leaders against the backdrop of Formula 1, offering invaluable insights and connections.​

Immersive Local Business Trips: Our curriculum includes local business trips to associations, offering hands-on experiences and practical knowledge in real-world settings.​

Throughout these visits you will be able to interact with founders and senior management, connecting what you’ve learned in class to the strategic and operational realities of managing innovation in the sports and hospitality industries.

The trips are also an ideal opportunity to grow your sports industry network.

Final semester Internship or Applied Project

Your two study semesters conclude with the option to undertake a professional internship or to complete an Applied Project.

Internship

Your six-month professional internship will take you inside the sports, events or hospitality industries, exposing you to different roles within your chosen field of work. 

In addition to the valuable professional experience, you will be required to reflect on your internship, enhancing your self-awareness of the competencies you’ve gained throughout your Master’s.

Applied Project

Should you decide to undertake an Applied Project, it will give you the opportunity to work in a specific area of your choosing, taking a leading role in your own learning process.

Always a rewarding experience, the thesis opens up almost unlimited avenues of research, provided the topic is of strategic significance and worthy of graduate-level pursuit.

Education:

A Bachelor degree  (or its international equivalent) in Hospitality, Sport Management, Tourism, Business Management, or Marketing is preferred. However, applicants with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field may be considered. 

The school accepts documents in English, or one of the Swiss national languages, i.e. French, German and Italian. If not, an official notarized translation in English will be required.

Work experience is preferred but not required.

English level:

If English is not your first language, or if you have not spent the last two years studying in an institution where English is the primary language of instruction, please enclose a copy of one of the following:

  • IELTS: overall 6.0 and min. 5.5 in every sub-component*
  • TOEFL: Internet-based 80 or paper-based 550
  • First Cambridge Exam: Grade A
  • Cambridge Advanced Exam: Grade C
  • Duolingo 115 with no component under 105

*Only tests taken/issued in an official IELTS testing center are accepted.
