Academic content

A course structure designed to give you everything you need to become a hotel manager.

Start with practical experience in the first semester, learn the theory and strategy – and how to apply it – in the second semester before rounding it off in a real-world setting during your internship.

Semester 1 (15-16 Academic weeks):

A deep dive into all aspects of hotel operations, including rooms, housekeeping, front desk and food & beverage. Sharpen your financial, operational and people management skills and test them in a theoretical scenario using our unique virtual hotel.

Short Semester 2 (12-13 Academic weeks):

Learn about strategy, asset management, sustainability and events before tackling an applied business capstone project. Also includes a field trip to Dubai where you will see how high-quality hotels operate in the real world and take advantage of unrivalled networking opportunities.

Semester 3 : 6-month Internship or Applied Project:

A six-month professional internship in one of the industry’s most sought-after brands provides an opportunity to apply everything you have learned in class.

 

Practical operations exposure

Gaining experience in the operational side of the hotels is essential if you want to reach the top in the industry.

All the best hotel managers know exactly how each essential cog in the hotel machine works.

Whether you are switching career or a recent graduate looking to specialise, this aspect of the program is key to unlocking a better understanding of how hotels operate and building credibility among future employers.

Our on-campus facilities in Marbella are state-of-the-art and offer real hotel simulations that give you an in-depth understanding of how a hotel functions from top to bottom.

Professional internship

While the skills you will develop are important, on-the-job experience is the key to landing a top role.

That’s why we include six months of direct work experience with the Master’s in International Hotel Management via the internship that follows your academic studies.

Education:

A Bachelor degree  (or its international equivalent) in hospitality, tourism, or business management is preferred. However, applicants with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field may be considered.

The school accepts documents in English, or one of the Swiss national languages, i.e. French, German and Italian. If not, an official notarized translation in English will be required.

Work experience:

Relevant work experience is preferable, but not required.

English level:

If English is not your first language, or if you have not spent the last two years studying in an institution where English is the primary language of instruction, please enclose a copy of one of the following:

  • IELTS: overall 6.0 and min. 5.5 in every sub-component*
  • TOEFL: Internet-based 80 or paper-based 550
  • First Cambridge Exam: Grade A
  • Cambridge Advanced Exam: Grade C
  • Duolingo 115 with no component under 105

*Only tests taken/issued in an official IELTS testing center are accepted.
