Les Roches Marbella Global Hospitality Education celebrated its 53rd closing ceremony on June 28, 2019, during which fifty-seven students received their Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Global Hospitality Management and an additional seventy-five received their Postgraduate Diploma in International Hotel Management. The Class of Spring 2019 hails from forty-one countries around the world: Algeria, Argentina, Republic of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Brazil, China, Colombia, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Cuba, Denmark, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, India, Ireland, Italy , Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mexico, Morocco, Nepal, Holland, Pakistan, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russian Federation, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, and the United States.
Graduation Highlights – June 28, 2019
Carmen Díaz García, General Director of Culture, Education & Heritage of Marbella Townhall, chaired the ceremony and Jacqueline Moyse, Vice President of Organizational Development of Mandarin Oriental Hotel, delivered the commencement address. Carmen Díaz García said that “it is an honor for our city to receive students every year from all over the world who come to train at Les Roches Marbella and whose talent is demanded by so many great companies around the world. This institution and its students help to elevate Marbella and Malaga to the core of hotel training and international luxury tourism.”
Jacqueline Moyse’s moving commencement speech reminded the graduates that they “have decided to undertake the most exciting career that exists, in an industry of 1.3 billion travelers every year and in continuous increase, looking new and exciting experiences that you, thanks to the training that you have received in one of the best hotel schools that exist, Les Roches Marbella, you can offer them”. During his speech to the graduates, Carlos Díez de la Lastra, General Manager of Les Roches Marbella, highlighted that “at Les Roches, we not only train our students in technical skills, we also help them to develop a clear life path while building a positive and analytical mindset to face failures and promote perseverance. These attributes are essential in an increasingly changing and innovating industry that needs leaders with the ability to adapt.”

Also taking place during the ceremony was the presentation of the 14th edition of the Les Roches Marbella Awards, which were as follows:
• Inspiring Young Talent Award: Hotel Mandarin Oriental Barcelona,
• Social Responsibility Award: “Somos Tu Ola” foundation
• Mentor Award: Lourdes Aparicio Villalón
• Way of Life Award: Joana Costa Alexandre, student of the BBA in Global Hospitality Management.
