On Friday, June 2, 2017, 133 new professionals of the international hospitality and tourism industry graduated during the 46th Closing Ceremony of Les Roches Marbella. The spring 2017 graduation included graduates of three specialized degree programs, including the 26th promotion of the Bachelor in Business Administration in International Hotel Management, the 41st promotion of the Postgraduate in International Hospitality Management, and the 2nd promotion of the Postgraduate in Marketing Management for Luxury Tourism.
The graduates come from 36 countries around the world: Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, China, Cote d’Ivoire, Czech Republic, El Salvador, France, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Hungary, India, Italy, Japan, Kazakstan, Kenya, Republic of Korea, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mexico, Morocco, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russian Federation, Serbia, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States, Vietnam and of course Spain.
The ceremony was presided over by Francisco Javier Porcuna Romero, Deputy Mayor, Councilor Delegate for Tourism, Industry, Public Road, Strategic Projects and Citizen Security of Town Hall of Marbella; And Julián Cabanillas, general director of the Marbella Club Hotel, who gave the commencement speech. Carlos Díez de la Lastra Buigues, Director of Les Roches Marbella and Maria José Aparicio, Academic Director of Les Roches Marbella, also intervened on behalf of the school and the faculty department.
In addition, during the event, the 8th edition of the Les Roches Marbella Awards were delivered as follows:
• “Inspiring Young Talent Award 2017” for W Hotels Barcelona
• “Social Responsibility Award” for Cruz Roja Marbella (collected by the organization’s, Mr. Julián García Aguilar)
• “Mentor Award” for Eduardo Ramirez Cerrudo, Computer Scientist of Les Roches Marbella
• “Way of Life Award” for Sebastian Löffler, BBA Student and member of the Eta Sigma Delta international hospitality honor society.
As each of these recent graduates begins their professional journeys in the hospitality industry, be reminded to always stay true to your path and to yourself. You have received the training, the knowledge, and the experience that will allow you to contribute to an industry that puts people first by bringing them together. Today you are part of something far greater than individual pursuits of success.
