On Friday, March 18th, Les Roches Marbella held the closing ceremony of the XXXVI Postgraduate Closing Ceremony for the Postgraduate Intensive Diploma in International Hotel Management (October 2015 intake). During the ceremony, held at the Puente Romano Beach Resort & Spa in Marbella, a total of 48 students from the School received their credentials.
The 48 new graduates come from 13 different countries: Azerbaijan, Cyprus, Estonia, Germany, Greece, Italy, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Ukraine and the United States. The Postgraduate program is directed at university graduates and professionals who have a minimum of three years experience in the hotel & tourism industry and who wish to specialize in senior hotel management to reorient their careers in the international hotel industry.
Francisco Javier Porcuna Romero, Deputy Mayor and Councilor of Industry & Development of Marbella City Hall chaired the graduation ceremony. During his speech, Mr. Porcuna reminded the new graduates that they had left a lasting mark on Marbella during their time studying here by serving as examples of the city’s amiable hospitality.
Also present for the event were Mr. Jorge Manzur, Director General of the Puente Romano Beach Resort & Spa, who delivered the closing speech, D. Carlos Diez de la Lastra Buigues, General Director of Les Roches Marbella, and Ms. María José Aparicio, Academic Director Les Roches Marbella.
During the ceremony Les Roches Marbella presented its annual “Golden Key Award” to a highly respected industry professional from Cadiz, Mr. Antonio Maria Ceballos, in recognition of his long work history, contribution and dedication to this exciting industry. The honoree was grateful to the university for honoring him with the award and advised the new graduates, above all else, to always exercise their profession with a smile while noting that hospitality is still built on person to person relationships no matter how much technology and innovation attempts to offer more.
The 36th postgraduate graduating class represents the excellence in the training provided by Les Roches Marbella over the past twenty years. They now form part of our global alumni group who work at prestigious companies in the international hotel and tourism industry in more than 54 countries around the world. Now, starting in April 2016, Les Roches Marbella will expand its specialized postgraduate offering with a new diploma program in Marketing Management for Luxury Tourism – also one year in duration with a six-month academic semester followed by six months of professional training directly in the industry.
