The 2016 Young Chef Olympiad in New Delhi, India begins today, January 27th and concludes with a the finals and award ceremony in Kolkata on Saturday, February 1st. Among the 67 students from 67 countries who will compete this week is Les Roches Marbella Bachelor of International Hospitality Managementstudent, Ipshita Kumar.
Ipshita is a student ambassador and is currently studying her final year of the BBA program. Even before starting college here in 2013, she was very passionate about cooking so it came as no surprise that she would seek and win Les Roches Marbella’s student Master Chef competition. As the 2015 Master Chef of Les Roches Marbella, Ipshita will represent the school in a bid to become the 2016 international young chef champion. The honor of such a feat would be two-fold as Ipshita represents both Spain, where she studies, and her home country of India, where the competition is being held.
Despite only studying culinary arts during one semester of practical training at Les Roches, Ipshita’s love of food and creative approach will not go unnoticed by the competitions judges. To prepare for the Young Chef Olympiad, Ipshita spent the past week at the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts in Jordan (RACA) with other students who will represent Les Roches’ global campuses. While there they undertook a series of master classes from top international chefs.
