Close to a million people visit Santa Catalina Island each year, but there are only 4,000 people who live here. I had never heard of this place until the Santa Catalina Island Company came to recruit BBA students from Les Roches Marbella earlier this year. Located thirty-five kilometers off the coast of Los Angeles, the island is the perfect place to get international experience working in a hotel while also living in an exotic and adventurous destination.
Myself and two other students from Les Roches have been working for the Santa Catalina Island Company for the past four months during our internships and it is has been an amazing opportunity. The company operates the Pavilion Hotel, Hotel Atwater, Catalina Expeditions, Catalina Visitors Country Club, Catalina Island Golf Course, Descanso Beach Club,Casino Ballroom, Avalon Grille and all operations located at the resort town of Two Harbors.
