People
There is something magical about having people from various backgrounds, speaking different languages, and representing different cultures in one room, especially when they all share the same passion; a passion for Hospitality. I now know people from over 30 countries, and I haven’t even met all of the students. Meeting people from all over the world has allowed me to become more cultured and be better prepared for an international career in Hospitality. I am proud to say that we have now formed lifelong friendships and networks that go beyond country borders. I now have a Les Roches Family!
Program
What I love most about this program is the balance and connectivity that it provides between the academic and practical aspects of Hospitality. We experience what we learn, and learn from what we experience. We would take a class on service, and then we would serve our guests. We would learn about event management, and then we would be tasked with managing an event. And this is the process with each and every subject we study – the perfect balance of practical and academic work.
What I also enjoyed about the program is its focus on management skills; most of the courses are structured to help us make decisions as managers, as leaders. And when the focus is on the practical side of Hospitality, service standards of excellence are the clear objective and ultimate goal.
Professors
Each of our tutors and mentors are true experts in their respective fields, with extensive experience and knowledge that they are sharing with us on a daily basis. What’s really special about these teachers is that they not only teach us the curriculum, but they do it in a way that keeps us intrigued at all times, looking for every chance to learn and experience more. They truly do make this program both valuable and enjoyable.
Place
The pristine sea, the warm sun and the refreshing Marbella breeze work together to form the cherry on top of an already amazing Sundae Blizzard. Having the beach a mere 10 minute drive from campus, but also having the glorious skiing mountains of Sierra Nevada only a few hours away leaves no room for empty, activity-less days. Being very close to Puerto Banus and to the center of Marbella, gives us a great number of restaurants, bars, clubs and other entertainment activities to enjoy.
There you have it, the 4 p’s that made my semester at LRM Perfect. Salud!
