The reason why I came to Les Roches Marbella is that I wanted a life changing experience. Before coming here I was studying tourism in the University of Seville. Hospitality was always my passion; however, I wanted to receive a more practical education. I got to know about Les Roches and I really liked its method and philosophy. Since I began (I am currently in my second year), I have learned a lot about the hospitality industry and of course, about life itself.
Thanks to Les Roches’s craft based education system, week by week and semester by semester, you are always developing management skills. In the first two years you learn mostly about the operational and front of house activities. In the third year it¡s about the administrative and management aspects of the industry, through a combination of academics, practical and internship training. However, we Les Roches Marbella students don’t just want to be managers, we want to be the best leaders in the hospitality industry and Les Roches gives us all the resources and opportunities to develop these essential leadership qualities. Learning from “bottom to top” is the first step towards becoming a good leader. We get the opportunity to experience different departments in different aspects during our practical weeks and internships.
Furthermore, this doesn’t just give you the opportunity to develop your skills, but to meet a lot of new people and travel around the world. Les Roches Marbella has more than 50 nationalities on campus. This means we study in an extremely diverse environment, where we learn a lot about cultures and tolerance. Les Roches also gives us the opportunity to transfer between different international locations for our academic semesters. Moreover, in every location, the industry’s top employers recruit students for internships, management training and also for permanent jobs after graduation.
In addition, Les Roches is accredited by NEASC (New England Association of Schools and Colleges) just like Harvard, which also proves its great recognition. Finally, proved by the latest statistics, 89 % of the students graduating from les Roches get employed right after finishing school. Which other university can say this nowadays?
