What a great second edition of Fresher’s Day we had on Saturday, 6th August! The combination of very motivated teams, a really good turnout from freshers and returning students, and beautiful weather created an amazing atmosphere. The day was topped off with a pool party organized by the Student Social Committee.
Fresher’s Day introduces new students to all the Clubs & Societies and Sports Teams on campus. Held at the beginning of the semester, this event is a great way for on-campus groups to find new recruits and for students to get involved. All Clubs & Societies and Sports Teams have the opportunity to introduce their activities and present themselves to new and returning students. The efforts that were put into this event show how dedicated students are at Les Roches, making me very proud to be a part of this campus.
At Fresher’s Day, we had several stands for sports, from yoga to volleyball, where students could get information and sign up. The Clubs & Societies present during the day included Les Roches Gives Back, LRB Net Impact, Toastmasters, Wine Club, Hiking Club and the Student Social Committee. We had a stand available to promote the Future of Hospitality Summit (FHS), a big upcoming event run by students , and even the career department joined us with their CDIP Task Force!
The ambiance of the day gradually changed from lounging vibes to pool party, even including a water balloon fight led by the SSC! Overall, the event was an immense success to kick off the new semester. Stay tuned for more.
