The most rewarding part of my job is, without a doubt, seeing the progress and professional development of all those students who, one day, long ago, I had the opportunity to meet and help through the processes of admission to Les Roches Marbella.
Those adolescents, some of whom started out doubtful about their future careers while others were convinced early on of their vocation, have grown into well trained and confident men and women who are steadily growing in the exciting world of the hospitality industry.
I hold great memories of many of them, from how we met during high school presentations and at university fairs to how some of them had to work hard to improve their English, finish their secondary studies and convince their parents that what they really wanted was to study Hospitality Management at Les Roches Marbella.
I could tell many stories that now, years later, are still alive in my memory. I remember a student trying to convince his mother at a university fair once. The mother, of course, was full of doubts and had many questions but her son stood firmly with crossed arms and said, “Mom, it’s Hospitality Management or nothing”. He ultimately convinced his mother and today he is about to graduate happily with a BBA in Hospitality from Les Roches Marbella.
Still, there are others that to this day send me commendation letters and “employee of the month” awards from their bosses by Whatsapp. Their expression of gratitude and the satisfaction they hold for their career decisions makes me feel, in many ways, participant in their success.
There are also others that have passed on their enthusiasm for hospitality to their friends and even older siblings who, after graduating in other areas, have come to Les Roches Marbella to further their studies with a Postgraduate in Hospitality Management. When references come from our former students, this is the most rewarding of all and shows that our efforts are never without cause.
When I’m giving a presentation at a seminar, a school or a university fair, all these experiences are what give me the security and confidence to convey enthusiasm for a unique career in a very special school.
Finally I would like to remind students in Spain that my colleagues, Ana García de la Rosa, Jordi Figuera, Pablo González and I, are here for anything you need and ready to help you wherever possible.
Congratulations to all of you who chose Les Roches Marbella as the school to begin your careers in Hospitality Management!
