During an intimate ceremony held on campus Friday, November 8, 2013, six Hospitality Management students of Les Roches Marbella and one honorary member were inducted into the distinguished Eta Sigma Delta International Hospitality Honor Society.
The ESD Honor Society was founded in 1978 by a group of students from the University of New Hampshire’s Whittemore School of Business & Economics who identified a need to recognize hospitality and tourism students for their outstanding academic achievement, meritorious service and demonstrated professionalism.
Since 2003, Les Roches Marbella has been one of over 90 participating chapters worldwide. Our commitment to the International Hospitality Honor Society is a testament to our ongoing educational mission to provide students with the highest level of academic and professional guidance as they venture into their careers in Hospitality Management.
This semester’s members were inducted into Eta Sigma Delta based on their personal achievements for upholding the five core values set forth in the society’s charter: academic excellence, leadership, creativity, service and ethics. They are Alejandro Ramírez Cortés (Mexico), Leila Driss (Tunisia), Gustavo Miguel Mendes Martins (Portugal), Vivian Raquel Muñoz Jean-Francois (Panama), Vladimir Sochinskiy (Kazakhstan) and Gerogi Stoyandzhov (Bulgaria).
In addition to the six student inductees of Les Roches Marbella’s 20th ESD ceremony, a respected hotel industry professional, Tiago Manuel Monteiro Milheiro, was awarded honorary membership to the society for his outstanding service and years of dedication in leading hotels worldwide.
Les Roches Marbella is proud of each of them for their outstanding commitment and we wish them all personal and professional success as they venture into their future careers. As members of Eta Sigma Delta, today, they are well on their way to distinguishing themselves in the eyes of the increasingly competitive hospitality industry.
