As part of Les Roches Marbella and Laureate Hospitality Education’s efforts to raise awareness among high school students and young adults about careers in hospitality and hotel management, we are proud to announce the official launch of our interactive competition that offers an innovative online gaming experience for participants who will build their very own virtual hotel. It all starts on September 3rd, 2012 and for eight weeks anyone from 15 to 30 years old is welcome to participate and promote their hotel ideas to friends and fans in their social networks.
Through this interactive hotel-themed online competition, participants will learn what it takes to succeed in this dynamic and fast growing industry. The game provides an easy-to-use platform for you to develop your very own hotel by choosing a particular design or theme, as well as logos and other unique features. Once you have developed your hotel of choice you must apply a business plan while also testing your ability to effectively manage and promote it via social media or email. The success of your hotel will depend on how many friends, family and online fans virtually “check-in” to your establishment during the eight weeks of the competition’s duration.
At the end of the eight weeks, the six players with the highest number of “check-ins” for their hotel will be selected to interview with a jury of industry professionals from top hospitality companies. During the interview, the finalists will be questioned on their choice of hotel construction, their business strategy, promotional efforts and their general knowledge of the hospitality industry.
The overall winner will be awarded a trip to a real world-class hospitality experience at the Laureate Hospitality Education institution of their choice either in Spain, Switzerland, USA, Australia or China. We hope the experience will help young people discover the new world of opportunities in the field of hospitality and perhaps at once find their professional calling in the industry.
