Why did you decide to study hospitality management in Switzerland?
Coming from Thailand, I was excited to come to Switzerland, as not only does it carry the crown of hospitality, but it is also ranked highest in the world regarding chocolate consumption. Need I say more?
Why did you choose to study at Les Roches?
I knew before completing my Bachelor’s degree in international hospitality management that I also wanted to obtain a Master’s degree. In order to achieve that, I have to learn from the best of the best. I was seeking a compact Master’s program with a diverse class environment that will prepare me for the global career. The Les Roches MBA program was able to tick all the boxes for me.
What does the Les Roches way of life mean to you?
Before I joined Les Roches, I was intrigued by the motto. After joining, without even realizing, I am living the motto. Les Roches’ spirit means sharing a community with different people from all over the world. Most of all, do what you love with passion.
How would you describe your student life and opportunities at Les Roches?
Les Roches provides great opportunities for students to meet, share ideas and connect with hospitality leaders around the world. Examples of networking events include Career and Recruitment Day, and the trips to Dubai and Chicago, the latter of which is the highlight of the MBA program.
Where did you do your internship? And how did you find it?
My internship was at Casa De La Flora, a five-star resort and member of Design Hotels Group. The hotel is located along the coast of the Andaman Sea in the south of Thailand. I was responsible for the dual role of Guest Service Agent and Guest Relations Officer. I got to plan the details and provide the touch that made guests’ experience memorable.
What is your most memorable time at Les Roches?
My most memorable time at Les Roches is when I am surrounded with friends. Within a short time, I have developed great friendships with my fellow Les Rochians. I have learned new things from everybody, and I’m fascinated by the experiences that they shared. My classmates have also taught me how to ski.
What are your plans when you graduate?
Like all the strategic dreamers at Les Roches, I plan to have a global hospitality career. I am interested in the lifestyle segment of hospitality. My dream is to build a business that will add value not only to the hospitality industry, but also for everyone involved to benefit from it.
Any tips for new students?
For all future Les Rochians out there, congratulations and welcome to your new home. Get a good pair of snowshoes, be ready and be open-minded. Make the best out of the time that you will have and embrace the experience, because Les Roches is not just a school…it’s a way of life.
To conclude, Les Roches has changed me for the better and will always remain a part of me. I am very thankful for my friends, who make every day enjoyable, and for the professors for putting their best effort into the classes. Les Roches not only prepares me for the best but is also giving me opportunities to be the best version of myself.
