As an expert in hospitality finance and accounting, Debra is a member of Les Roches’ visiting faculty. Her book ‘Management Accounting for the Hospitality Industry – A Strategic Approach’, is widely used as a text for courses in hospitality.
She is also Head of Professional Development Programs for HOSPA (Hospitality Professionals Association), as well as the owner of consultancy company arena4finance.

Rachel has more than 20 years’ experience teaching a variety of subjects at Les Roches. She obtained both a masters and doctorate in Education from the Open University.
She is directly involved in student-led research in Les Roches through applied projects as well as teaching undergraduate students Methods of Research Inquiry, guiding students on their dissertation path and supervising dissertation students in their final bachelor semester. She has presented student work related to climate change and agritourism at a conference in Germany. Rachel also teaches courses related to digitalisation and change management at the post-graduate level, both face-to-face and on-line.
Last but not least, Rachel is a member of the Les Roches Research Committee, heading the Scholarship for Teaching and Learning Theme. Her research interests are wide ranging and include emotional labour, faculty lived experience of crises, professional interaction and identity and sustainability. She values researching alongside her peers and their work has been presented at conferences in Europe and won an award in the US and has been published in leading journals and as a book chapter.

Ewa has been teaching at Les Roches for over 10 years, having previously held the position of Professor at the University of Applied Sciences of Western Switzerland. Her academic achievements include a PhD in Information Systems, two Master’s and a Laureate Certificate.

Wolf started teaching at Les Roches in 2010, having also graduated at the school.
Before returning to his alma mater, Wolf gained a combined six years of experience in the hotel industry and educational consulting sector.
In the former, he worked with brands such as Hyatt. He is a regular guest lecturer in Latvia and has participated in several conferences.
Alongside his role as a Lecturer, Wolf was the Program Manager for the sixth and seventh semesters of our BBA program for four years, and was recently appointed BBA Program Director. In this role he now overlooks the entire bachelor program.

Nancy’s has over 25 years of expertise in sustainability management. She is widely published in books, journals, and media and the founder of Sustainable Business Design Consulting and the Sustainability Training Institute.
Nancy has received awards for sustainability research, teaching, and service, including two Fulbright awards. She previously taught at Loyola University Chicago, University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and Morehead State University with additional experience as a visiting scholar in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.

With a consolidated expertise in the field of marketing, as well as a confirmed interest and further specialization in sustainability and luxury, Iris leads a few different courses for both undergraduate and postgraduate students at Les Roches since 2022.
A well rounded professional, Iris combines experience in both marketing and trade marketing, having worked in countries like Brazil, Spain and Switzerland in a wide array of different industries: pharmaceutical, cosmetics and pet food.
After graduating in Hospitality Management from the “Institut Paul Bocuse” in France, Xavier has gained experience working for 10 years as a restaurant manager in several fine dining restaurants in China, in France, and more recently in Burj Al Arab, in Dubai.
He joined Les Roches Crans-Montana in 2020 sharing his passion for hospitality and guest service with our students, and is now also overseeing the F&B operations on the Crans-Montana campus.

Dr. Krisztina Soreg is a distinguished university lecturer, economist and business analyst, holding a Ph.D. degree in Economics and Management Sciences from the University of Sopron, Hungary, as well as a graduate degree from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Hungary with 9+ years of teaching experience. Since March 2022, she delivers courses as an Assistant Professor on various subjects in Data Analytics, Economics as well as Entrepreneurship and Business Modelling to undergraduate and postgraduate students, while also overseeing dissertation projects across a spectrum of topics.
Dr. Soreg’s expertise extends to her role as a postdoctoral researcher in the field of Development Economics with 30+ published articles. With a rich academic background, she has contributed her knowledge and insights to numerous public and private universities, including the University of Malaga, University of Milton Friedman in Hungary, Budapest University of Technology and Economics, as well as the American College in Spain.
Presently, she holds a full-time faculty position at Les Roches Marbella, and serves as the General Education Pathway Coordinator and Visiting Faculty at the Les Roches Crans-Montana campus in Switzerland, exemplifying her dedication to education and research within the global academic community. Besides, she is also fulfilling a role of the Dissertation Coordinator for the BBA7 students and is part of the Research Committee of Les Roches.

Nansy Kouroupi is a Visiting Lecturer and Associate Researcher at Les Roches Global Hospitality Education. She also serves as Board Member and Area Consultant for Greece at EMEA CHRIE (former EuroCHRIE). She brings more than 20 years of leadership across the services sector, spanning marketing, tourism, events, and sales, with senior roles in multinational organisations and hands-on work in hospitality operations. She is also the co-founder and Managing Partner of the award-winning hospitality brand Salina Villas & Residences, recognised with a Greek Tourism Award in 2025. Her work sits where digital change meets real people, and her research examines responsible uses of the Metaverse and XR (VR/AR) technologies to strengthen visitor experience, sustainability, and destination resilience.

During the studies, worked for two years as a Lecturer Assistant at IU University Germany, supporting academic programs in hospitality.
For the past five years, has been based in Switzerland, holding F&B management roles at Kulm Hotel Arosa, Le Grand Bellevue Gstaad, and Six Senses Crans-Montana, including participation in a hotel opening team.
Completed the Hotel Specialist apprenticeship with Mandarin Oriental, Munich, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management (major in Sustainable Hospitality Management) from IU University Germany.
Professional qualifications include the WSET Level 3 Award in Wines and the Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE) designation from the American Hotel & Lodging Association.

Muriel Breau, originally from Provence, France, brings over 25 years of international experience across five continents, with a strong background in fine dining establishments, luxury hotels and resorts, event companies, and renowned hospitality schools.
Joined Les Roches in February 2020 and currently serves as Senior Service Instructor within the Practical Arts department. In this role, teaches first-year Bachelor of Business Administration students in the campus fine dining restaurant, delivering both theoretical and practical training through immersive, real-life operational experiences.
Passionate about service excellence and hospitality education, with a strong commitment to sharing industry knowledge and experience with students.
Taran Patel is Head of Research at Les Roches Global Hospitality Education, where she leads the institution’s research strategy and scholarly initiatives. She is Professor of Organizational Behavior and International Business and an experienced academic leader in international higher education.
She holds a PhD in International Business from The Open University (UK), supervised at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, and a Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches (HDR) from the University of Rouen. Her research examines leadership and followership, culture in international business, and gender and diversity. She has published widely in journals including Journal of Business Ethics, Organization, and European Management Review, and has led externally funded research projects on organizational learning and sustainability.

Professor Rachel Germanier has more than 20 years’ experience teaching across hospitality and management subjects at Les Roches. She holds both a master’s degree and an EdD in Education from the Open University and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. At Les Roches, she leads undergraduate courses in Methods of Research Inquiry and supervises and co-ordinates bachelor dissertations. She is the co-ordinator for the MSc programs in Hospitality and Hotel Management. Her diverse research interests include emotional labour, professional identity, faculty experience of crises and sustainability in education.

In 2020, founded a consulting company supporting sole proprietorships, SMEs, and associations in financial planning, administrative organization, and strategic decision-making.
During academic studies, awarded the 2021 MScF Merit Scholarship from the Association Cantonale des Banques Neuchâteloises (ACBN) for achieving the highest grades in the first semester of the Master’s program.

Dr. Andreea Antonescu is a Visiting Professor at Les Roches Global Hospitality Education in Switzerland and a researcher in tourism and hospitality with over 15 years of international experience across Switzerland, France, China, and Romania. She holds a PhD in Tourism Studies from the University of Lausanne. Her research explores authenticity in hospitality interactions, sustainable and regenerative tourism, and transformative travel experiences. In her doctoral thesis, she focused on the globalization of tourism and the evolution of tourist destinations. She teaches at graduate and undergraduate levels and supervises applied research projects across different graduate programs.

| Marc Checkley is a New Zealand-born writer, consultant, host and educator who blends his love of storytelling with his passion for wine and hospitality. Previously working in television and creative development in Asia, he is WSET-qualified and works with global F&B brands and wine regions on content and story-led experiences.
Marc has written for Gault&Millau, Decanter, Time Out and the South China Morning Post, amongst others, and was a finalist at the 67 Pall Mall Global Wine Communicator Awards in 2024. A wine judge, he is also an adjunct lecturer at Les Roches Hospitality Management School and has delivered online programmes for the Wine Scholar Guild and Great Wine Capitals. In 2025, Marc co-wrote The Smart Traveller’s Wine Guide to Switzerland for Académie du Vin Library. He lives in the foothills of Lavaux, Switzerland, where he is also a UNESCO World Heritage Guide. |

Alexandru Stoinea is an Economics Lecturer and Senior Career Counsellor at Les Roches, bringing together academic expertise and over a decade of international industry experience. His career spans hospitality, aviation, technology, and online travel, having held key roles with global organizations such as Expedia Group, Booking.com, Etihad Airways, and Grand Hyatt Dubai. Passionate about making economic concepts accessible and practical, he integrates real‑world applications into his teaching to strengthen students’ analytical and critical‑thinking skills. Alexandru holds an MSc in Digital Education from the University of Edinburgh, where he focused on innovative and technology‑enhanced learning.
After graduating in Hospitality Management from the Institut Paul Bocuse in France, built over 10 years of experience developing expertise and holding managerial positions in Food & Beverage across hotels and restaurants in Canada, the United States, Morocco, France, and Switzerland.
Now dedicated to sharing knowledge and passion for hospitality with the next generation of professionals, combining international industry experience with a strong commitment to excellence in education.
| Scott Dahl is a seasoned hospitality executive with over 30 years of experience in revenue management, sales, marketing, and hotel operations. He has held leadership roles at major hospitality organizations, including Wurzak Hotel Group, Apple Leisure Group, and Hersha Hospitality Management.
From 2019 to 2022, Scott served as Program Director of the Master’s Hospitality Strategy and Digital Transformation at Les Roches, after starting his academic career as Senior Lecturer in Marketing and Revenue Management at Ecole hotelier de Lausanne in 2016. Recognized as HSMAI’s 2024 Corporate Revenue Optimization Professional of the Year, he combines industry expertise with a passion for education. |
