Coronavirus

Here is a recall of all measures implemented on our campuses in regards to the Coronavirus developments.

Update as of March 30th

Life across our campuses paused as we supported many of our student community in their journeys home to their families. For those who were unable to travel, our dedicated teams continue to support their wellbeing.

We have now, as a community, switched to remote learning and teaching and are using technology to bring faculty and students together.

The Les Roches Leadership Team have been working tirelessly to fulfil their commitment to the continuity of your program of study in this temporary situation.

We have been constantly reviewing the current global situation to project the return to our regular operations, face to face teaching and to adapt our academic calendar accordingly.

Swiss Authorities suspended all face to face classes until end of April 2020. We anticipate it will take time for the world to return to pre-Covid-19 times, with open borders, ease of travel and classroom teaching.

We have had meetings and dialogues with the Governing bodies of the Institution, including our students, to assess how to adapt to the current situation and to determine the most realistic and flexible calendar for all.

In our pledge to keep you actively informed in a timely manner, we wish to share our perspective at this stage, which is informed by three key factors:

  • Public authorities’ authorization to resume teaching on campus
  • Unlimited International travel
  • Resilience of the tourism and hotel industry

Given these current uncertainties, we forecast the opening of our campuses and face to face teaching resuming in July 2020. Obviously, we will seize any opportunity to enable an earlier start should the situation allow it. This also means we will push back the Fall 2020 intake as of mid-October.

In the meantime, students will continue remote teaching until May/June. To enable our students to make the most of this remote learning period they will also be granted private access to join small group sessions coached by experts around Revenue Management, Hotel Valuation and Spa Management. These courses will allow students to obtain four certificates in addition to their Academic Degree.

In our commitment to support our students’ growth as hospitality leaders, we will also offer an exceptional series, “Leading Hospitality Through Turbulent Times”, taking the form of webinars, forums, discussions, case studies, and other means. This will span the remote learning period and after students return to campus. The series will provide students with exceptional insights on crisis management, on how the industry is coping with the crisis, how it plans to recover and more.

Should you have questions about the current situation and its impact on our school, please address them directly to us at: welfareinfo@lesroches.edu

We will not let the current crisis prevent us from pursuing our passion, which is to educate and prepare tomorrow’s business leaders. We look forward to welcoming all our students back on campus, as we kindle again the unique Les Roches way of life.
