Les Roches Global Hospitality Education – Marbella, Spain has been awarded the Bronze Medal by the Red Cross, an award that the Provincial Committee of the Red Cross in Malaga grants to different entities and people who stand out for their commitment to the organization.
Collaboration with the Red Cross is an important part of the charity actions carried out by Les Roches Marbella each year in an effort to support solidarity initiatives that benefit the community. Les Roches Marbella’s commitment to the city of Marbella and the province of Malaga. The school and the Red Cross have worked together since 2014 through numerous campaigns that have included blood drives, donation of clothes and shoes, the program “A la Intemperie” in which students and staff donate food to help the homeless, and through economic donations obtained through charity fundraising events.
During a ceremony held at the Casa Cultural Cala del Moral in Rincon de La Victoria, the award was presented to the CEO of Les Roches Marbella, Carlos Díez de la Lastra, by the city’s First Deputy Mayor, Antonio Miguel Moreno and with the assistance of the provincial president of the Red Cross of Málaga, Luis Utrilla. Upon receiving the award on behalf of Les Roches Marbella, Mr. Díez de la Lastra said that “it is an honor for Les Roches Marbella to receive this award and we are encouraged to continue promoting solidarity initiatives with the help of our staff, faculty, and the student body. Our commitment to helping local charities reinforces our mission to instil the qualities of cooperation, solidarity and dedication in our students by encouraging them to participate in voluntary initiatives that will help them in their personal and professional development.”
