JANUARY
BBA Induction Ceremony – In January we welcomed the BBA Class of 2018 to Les Roches Marbella.
FEBRUARY
Internship Stage Fair – This year’s stage fair was organized and hosted by our Postgraduate students who developed a unique theme based on travel and called “Les Roches Air”.
Introduction of The Illustrated Declaration of Human Rights – Les Roches Marbella was honored on Friday, February 20, 2015 to introduce the new illustrated version of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Starting in February 2015, the pocket-sized booklet was placed in all rooms of the campus residence and is now available to students throughout the school in an effort to promote the importance of supporting human rights around the world. Welcome Dinner – Also in February, Postgraduate October (PGO) students hosted the semi-annual welcome dinner with a 60’s themed costume party for both new and returning students of the Spring 2015 semester.
Marbella Ayuda Gala Dinner – Les Roches student volunteers showed their overwhelming solidarity towards Marbella Ayuda in a collaboritve effort with Marbella Club Hotel, Puente Romano Hotel, La Meridiana and Casa Pablo to provide a Charity Banquet for 600 guests.
MARCH
Students Launch Uptown Funk Dance Video – On March 11th students of Les Roches Marbella made history with the launch of the school’s most successful student video ever, featuring choreogrpahed dance moves to the beat of Bruno Mars’s hit single Uptown Funk. In less than 9 months on Youtube the video has amassed almost 60,000 views, surpassing all previous videos by several thousand views.
Mexican Youtuber, Benshorts, Visits Les Roches – Benshorts is Mexico’s most famous youtuber and we were honored to receive a visit from him and his team. As always our students showed them why Les Roches is more than a school, it’s a way of life. The video he published following his visit depicts this essence gracefully.
Postgraduate October Closing Ceremony – Taking place March 20th, on the International Day of Happiness, the PG October students received their credentials during a ceremony held at Hotel Puente Romano.
APRIL
LRM Houses Host 2015 Cultural Exposition – The cultural journey came complete with a passport from to allow students to visit, explore the cultures, the curiosities that those cultures have available, and earn a “cultural mile” by earning a stamp from the corresponding. The event concluded with a wonderful spread in Marché restaurant prepared by postgraduates.
MAY
Eta Sigma Delta Induction Ceremony – During an intimate ceremony attended by friends and faculty in the campus garden on May 7th, Ms. Nicole Waiyaki (BBA7 student from Kenya) was officially inducted into the distinguished Eta Sigma Delta honor society.
Sports Day – On May 13th the LRM Houses came together for a fun day of sports competitions held at La Milla Beach Club in Marbella.
Master Chef Challenge III – The third edition of the master chef competition saw the crowning of a new champion, Anna Marie Stoye (BBA4).
House Awards Dinner – On Friday, May 22nd, we held the House Awards ceremony and dinner in El Olivo Restaurant. The winners of the Spring 2015 House competitions can be found in the Les Roches Marbella Blog, here.
JUNE
Les Roches Marbella XXXVIII Closing Ceremony – 87 hospitality management graduates from 24 countries around the world received their credentials on June 5th at a ceremony held in Hotel Puente Romano.
AUGUST
Students Volunteer for Harena Charity Dinner – Upon returning for the autumn semester, students and staff of Les Roches Marbella volunteered for the annual charity dinner at Magna Marbella Golf to benefit the Fundación Harena’s national and international projects.
Autumn Welcome Dinner – The tradition of hosting a welcome dinner for new and returning students each semester is always popular in August when the days are long and the sun is bright. This summer’s dinner was a huge hit and featured the new student club located in the south garden on campus.
OCTOBER
Master Chef Challenge IV – Master Chef is quickly becoming a tradition each semester as Les Roches Marbella’s best student chefs get together to show their talents in an effort to become the champion and represent the school in India’s Young Chef Olympiad in 2016. This semester’s winner was BBA4 student, Ipshita Kumar, who delighted the panel of judges with her unique blend of original flavors.
Autumn Sports Day – In October students came together fort the second Sports Day of the year and showed us all just what teamwork is all about through their LRM House efforts.
NOVEMBER
Les Roches Vlogger World Trip 2015 – Starting at Les Roches Switzerland and culminating at Les Roches Marbella, a group of international Youtube bloggers were introduced to the Les Roches Way of Life. Upon their arrival in Marbella, our students and faculty treated them to their special brand of hospitality, LRM Hospitality.
Sustainability Week On Campus – The Les Roches Marbella Sustainability Club, headed by BBA7 Student Ambassador, Monica Lie, organized a weeklong series of charity fundraising events that saw them collect over 1,000 euros for the Buttterfly Skin foundation, DEBRA International. Family Cooking Class – The Les Roches Marbella Sustainability Club hosted another charity event to conclude the Sustainability Week onb campus. This event was directed towards local families and children and included a fun-filled day of cooking pizzas and cookies in the state-of-the-art kitchen of El Olivo Restaurant.
LRM Houses of Color Awards Gala – After two consecutive semesters of Red House dominance in the house challenges, we crowned a new champion heading into 2016. Congratulations to the GREEN HOUSE under the leadership of Nikita Granin, the new LRM House Champs!
XXIV Eta Sigma Delta Induction Ceremony – Sixteen BBA students from 14 countries were inducted into the international hospitality honor society in November as recognition for their outstanding academic and profession achievements during three and a half years of studies at Les Roches Marbella.
DECEMBER
Launch of the All New Bistro Cafe – After almost 20 years in the same location within the main campus building, the Bistro Cafe now has a new location in the old student club and a new look to go along with the latest state-of-the-art experiential learning facilities.
XXXIX Closing Ceremony – The 39th Closing Ceremony of BBA and Postgraduate students was held at Hotel Puente Romano on December 12th.
Les Roches Holiday Greetings Video – To say farewell to an amazing 2015, international students from different courses at Les Roches Marbella came together to film a fun Season’s Greetings video before returning home for the holidays.
