I would like to share with you some of the wonderful work that students in Effective Communication class submitted as part of our lesson on Persuasive Writing last semester. Students began to apply some persuasive techniques in written communication which also served to set the mood for their final presentations.
The topics of their brief persuasive essay were diverse and according to students´ own selection and interests. Among the several excellent examples that were read in class, below you have a small representation from each of three HOII groups. I would like to thank Miss Bianka Stegenová, Miss Gisèle Mbanenade and Miss Eszter Breuer for sharing their writing and thoughts with us, for making us reflect on some very controversial topics, and for enhancing our approach to life while sharing personal experiences that are very familiar to all of us in Les Roches.
Thank you also to all the students who participated in the class and shared their personal views.
Enjoy them!
Dream Big by Bianca Stegenova (HOII)
‘’If you can dream it, you can do it.“ – Walt Disney. Believe people who created magnificent things in life. Everything is possible. If you look around there are examples everywhere. We just have to open our eyes and believe in ourselves. Dream big and never let anyone tell you something different. Above all, you are doing it for yourself. (Read Bianca’s article here.)
I Believe In A World With Freedom by Gisèle Mbanenande (HOII)
I believe in a world with freedom. While we live in a world where democracy is advocated, certain countries and people still persecute others and rob them of this very basic aspect of freedom.
Looking at a human’s journey through life, most things are predetermined before we can even speak. Laws and morals are already existent and we are brought up to adapt to norms dictated by the society in which we live. Often times, we find ourselves “following Nemo” and usually not even knowing where we are heading or why we are headed there. So, where is the freedom? (Read Giséle’s article here.)
Why You Should Join Les Roches Marbella by Eszter Breuer (HOII)
The reason why I came to Les Roches Marbella is that I wanted a life changing experience. Before coming here I was studying tourism in the University of Seville. Hospitality was always my passion; however, I wanted to receive more practical education. I got to know about Les Roches and I really liked its method and philosophy. Since I am here, currently in my second year, I have learned a lot about industry and about life itself. (Read Eszter’s article here.)
