Les Roches alumnus and entrepreneur Elie Berchan (BBA 2006) specializes in creating unforgettable moments. Since founding Elie Berchan Wedding and Events Creation in Lebanon in 2010, Elie has expanded his business further in Europe and Africa. The company’s newest branch has just opened in Dubai — and is run by Priyanka Saini, another Les Roches alumna (BBA 2016). We chatted with Priyanka to learn more about this new venture.
Breaking New Ground
[quote]We have just opened our office in Dubai, so this is an exciting time for us,” Priyanka says. “On the one hand, Dubai is a very competitive market. But on the other hand, there is also a lot of potential for creating luxury bespoke events.
And that is precisely what award-winning event planner Elie Berchan excels in.
“We provide tailored services for weddings and other special events,” Priyanka explains. Helping clients prepare for their special day involves everything from picking the right venue to deciding on décor and taking care of the catering. So far, the business has created weddings and events in destinations as diverse as Tuscany, the Maldives, Santorini and Lebanon. And in 2016, Elie Berchan Wedding and Events Creation handled its first wedding in Dubai. “It was a great success. The bride was Indian and the groom was British, so the wedding incorporated elements from both cultures.”
La Table: Handmade Linens
In addition to its new Dubai office, Elie Berchan Wedding and Events Creation has unveiled La Table: a new collection of bespoke handmade table linens. Through La Table, clients can order tablecloths, napkins and more in a range of premium materials, styles and colors. The products are designed according to the customer’s needs and handmade by tailors in Lebanon.
The La Table collection can be purchased and shipped worldwide, and linens are also available on a rental basis. “It’s a customized luxury product, which can be used for special events or even at home,” Priyanka says. Meanwhile, the product can double as a memento of a wedding or other celebration, which clients can keep or give as a gift to guests.
For Priyanka, working with Elie Berchan has been a great opportunity to launch her dream career. Originally from India, Priyanka graduated from Les Roches Switzerland in December 2016 with a BBA in International Hotel Management and a specialization in Event Management. Today, she is busy connecting with new clients and partners in Dubai — and the future certainly looks promising.
