Skills Management is the practice of understanding, developing, deploying people and making using of their abilities that is being taught nowadays in order to help managers get the best out of their workers.
Les Roches Marbella understands the need to start teaching this kind of emotional intelligence in the leaders of tomorrow and as part of Ms. Manzaneque’s Postgraduate Degree in International Hotel Management course in Management Skills, we have studied this management practise in depth. One of the main tasks that we faced during the course was to create a storyboard of exercises. Each board was divided into four different parts: Where do you see yourself in ten years? What have you learned in the past ten years? These are followed by highlights under the headings of “Energies and Barriers”.
My Postgraduate Management Skills Class
Every student had to express their vision for 2024 as creatively as possible by making a collage, drawing, or writing out of scraps from old magazines and newspapers. The objective was to express those things that empower them and those that present potential barriers in order to reach their goals. With these we also had to include our vision of the future over the next ten years and what we learned over the last ten years in order visualize a way to achieve our dreams.
The exercise served a great deal to help each of us develop our vision of the future and how we can organise our ideas. This technique is really useful for getting to know ourselves and to achieve a balance in our lives by highlighting our mistakes, the things that we want to change, and the things that we really want to do in order to be successful. It is also a good exercise for confronting our fears and our weaknesses while gaining confidence in ourselves.
When you know what you want to put in each part of the board and you know how to reason about those things, you will have a clearer portrait of what your vision for the future is. No matter how big the challenge, you have to face it and know that if you really want it, you can do it.
