Taking Responsible
Action Today
Our journey to becoming a fully sustainable institution begins with the steps we take today.
Reducing our environmental impact from sustainable transportation to fighting food waste, we have launched a number of initiatives to reduce our impact on the environment. These initiatives are backed up by impact studies and data analytics, so that we can reliably measure our progress.
Oceanic Global
Les Roches Crans-Montana is the first Swiss institution to adopt the Blue Standard, which empowers businesses to create balance with the natural world and establishes universal accountability and cohesive benchmarks for sustainable business leadership.
SUNx Malta
We are signatories to the Climate Friendly Travel Register, becoming accredited to reach the 2030 agenda of reducing our CO2 emissions by 55%.
SWO (Stiftung Wirtschaft und Ökologie)
To increase biodiversity, we have partnered with SWO and invited staff and their children to plant an Orchard Garden at Crans-Montana campus.
The first phase included the planting of local fruit trees and bushes, while the next phase will include the implementation of an insect hotel designed by the Green Club.
Serving as a responsible community partner
Both our campuses are responsible and proactive members of their local communities. Here are just a few examples of our local outreach
Crans-Montana
- Working with Too Good To Go to donate leftover food that would otherwise go to waste.
- Partnering with Plastic Free Campus on numerous initiatives including workshops for school children at our ShiftIn’ environmental festival
- Multiple projects, including bush planting and the planting of an orchard garden on campus to increase biodiversity, in association with FDDM.
