We were curious to know why the field of hospitality management is so attractive to young people when there are such a variety of careers to choose from in today’s age of technology and accessibility. So, we asked eight future Les Roches Marbella students why they chose hospitality as their preferred career. What they have to say may very well inspire you.
Lisa Zhernova – Russia (BBA in International Hotel Management)
“For me Hospitality Management is a universal career, which enables constant communication with the people of different nationalities and, therefore, allows us to learn more about other cultures, in which I’ve always been interested.
I also believe that hospitality will contribute greatly to my self-fulfillment in life.
Besides, it is a great opportunity to travel around the world and have fun.”
Sorina Ioana Stancu – Romania (BBA in International Hotel Management)
“I chose hospitality management because it’s an industry that will never get old and that there will always be new opportunities and challenges for everyone who chooses this career.”
Guilherme Duvens Pinto – Portugal (Postgraduate Intensive Diploma in International Hotel Management)
“For me the Hospitality industry is all about an exciting career, which lets you have constant contact with people from all over the world.
I strongly believe that if I can succeed I will achieve real happiness and fulfillment. Also, it is a great way to travel around the world because there are amazing hotels everywhere.”
Maggie Campaniço – Portugal (Postgraduate Intensive Diploma in International Hotel Management)
“When I was little my cousin started to study hotel management during university and since then I have always said that I wanted to do it too. Besides, this industry has a lot of career opportunities aside from hotel management. In my case, as it was said before, I like the freedom to travel, the opportunity to know and work with different people and cultures, and the fulfillment of achieving my personal and professional goals.”
Leyla Aliyeva – Azerbaijan (BBA in International Hotel Management)
“I guess I was around 14 years old and I had an epiphany. I just always knew I wanted to do this ever since I knew the industry existed.”
Vasiliki Koumantou – Greece (BBA in International Hotel Management)
“I believe that what led me to a hotel management career is the fact that I get the chance to travel all over the world while always meeting new people and experiencing a variety of cultures. It is also a field that offers you not only many job opportunities but also exciting challenges.”
Alejandra Nabiyeva – Kazakhstan (BBA in International Hotel Management)
“When I was 12 years old I had a great holiday in Turkey. When I came back to my hometown, I decided that the hotel business is the most interesting area where I could be myself. Furthermore, the goal of my life is to create my own business that will connect directly with the hospitality industry. As for the management, I’m sure that my character traits don’t allow me to be a subordinate, so management is definitely for me. Many people think that the advantage of hospitality it’s just a travelling and meeting with different cultures, but for me hospitality is significantly wider and deeper. When you choose your career, first of all you should rely on character traits and be sure that you will be one of the best among others in this industry. I’m confident, that it will be this way with me, and hospitality will become the business of my life after getting my education in Les Roches Marbella.”
Johan Navermyr – Sweden (BBA in International Hotel Management)
“My passion for hospitality started when I got a chance to do a two-week internship at the Intercontinental La Torre Golf Resort in Murcia, Spain. Since then I have dreamed of working one day in the hospitality industry, primarily as a leader within a hotel. Working in such an international industry will be very interesting because of the possibility of traveling the world and the opportunities to interact with people of many different cultures.”
