A number of informative presentations were given by some of the most innovative voices in online marketing, including Antonio Ruiz of Neuro Brain House who outlined the application of neuroscience to digital strategies of the future by means of emotional response marketing. This was followed by an informative overview of what to look for in the growth of mobile usage around Spain in the near future. In this presentation, José Moreno of Genera Internet, confirmed trends that indicate a sharp increase in the use of mobile applications yet warned of the necessity to standout as marketers in this soon to be oversaturated advertising medium. The morning session of the forum was capped off with a motivating local success story presented by Claus Rohrer, CEO of Clinica Buchinger Wilhelm, who related the successful evolution of this world-renowned Marbella health spa.
The forum was highlighted by an entertaining and very insightful presentation from author and nationally recognized expert in online marketing and social media, Juan Merodio of juanmerodio.com. Mr. Merodio gave a very concise outlook for social media in 2014 and beyond, noting the important progress that is being made with the advances in connecting to the world via Google Now. He discussed the potential of Google’s personalized and interconnected search features as a means of bringing the best products and services to the user when and where they want them. Of course Google Now, as Juan Merodio cleverly pointed out, will be intertwined with the growth of Google Glass, giving users a fully augmented and interactive reality at the blink of an eye.
Continuing in his presentation, Juan Merodio went into great detail to show the forum’s participants how social media advertising (notably Facebook) is experiencing a revolution that is ideal for small businesses to increase their sales and market exposure. Through detailed targeting options and a low cost per conversion rate, social media advertising is the most economical and attractive means to reach out to clients. These advances, as noted by Juan Merodio during his energetic presentation, lend themselves to the growth of mobile usage in Spain. Currently, 63 per cent of the Spanish population are connected via smart phone and 93% of smart phone owners use them to connect to social media.
The six hour long forum concluded with a lively roundtable Q&A session between the panel of experts and the audience.
