Our latest internship experience video follows Elia Brunner as he completes his internship at the iconic Hotel Schweizerhof, a four-star establishment located in the heart of Zurich.
Elia’s internship sees him work in the hotel’s fine dining restaurant, La Soupiére, as a chef de rang. “You can’t ensure your guests receive an exquisite service without a chef de rang,” Elia explained. “My job is to make everything perfect for our guests.” Elia’s role is varied, but one factor he particularly enjoys is preparing desserts. “It’s a chance to add a touch of creativity,” he said. “It’s my own Zen moment in this fast-paced environment.”
Located in one of the world’s most exclusive shopping avenues, Elia has ample opportunity to enjoy himself outside of work. “In between shifts, I get to enjoy what Zurich has to offer,” he said. Elia believes the internship has been beneficial to his future career. “Thanks to this internship, I have not only learned about implementing standards, but I’ve also applied all the things I have learned at Les Roches,” he said. “This experience will greatly impact my future.”
