Hello, I am Dimple Mirpuri from Les Roches Marbella’s Career Development and Internship Placement Department (CDIP). I’m originally from India but I was born in Hong Kong and raised in Spain. I’m a proud alumnus of LRM where I completed my studies in Hotel Management before working in the hospitality industry for over seven years. Four years ago I returned to LRM and since then I’ve been working in CDIP organizing our students’ internships. My area of concern focuses on placing students in Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, Greece, Belgium, South America, Africa, India, Middle East, French Polynesia, the Caribbean, and other island destinations including Mauritius, Maldives, and Seychelles.

Hi, I am Krista Kotokorpi. I was born and raised in Finland where I studied Hospitality Management at the Helsinki Culinary School. I have over nine years of industry experience while working in Germany, Norway, and Spain. Like Ms. Mirpuri, I too have been working in CDIP for the past four years. I take care of placing our students in the UK, Ireland, Malta, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Holland, Eastern European Countries, Scandinavian Countries, Russia and Asia.
Les Roches Marbella’s August intake is already well underway and we are currently hard at work setting up internships and getting our students ready for their new adventure in the industry. Last week we held our annual student exchange called “Stage Fair – Autumn 2012”. The exhibition took place in the school lobby where our returning students shared their internship experiences with the rest of their colleagues. The event is always popular amongst students because they learn about the different hotels and destinations that others have been to. For first year and post graduate students, the insight is invaluable since they usually struggle with the large choice of internship destinations at their disposal. Hearing the experiences firsthand from their fellow students helps them to make the right choice as they choose the location to undertake their internships.
Also, in the CDIP department we continue to work closely with the hospitality industry and related companies in order to ensure new opportunities are always available to our students. With this in mind, we are currently finalizing the details of this semester’s career day visits from top hotel companies around the world. During career day we invite these companies to visit the school to share their philosophies, success stories, and valuable information about what they seek from new graduates entering the profession. While they are here they also carry out interviews on campus with students interested in undertaking internships or finding job placement opportunities within their establishments.
Don’t forget, there’s plenty more on the agenda in addition to these popular events and we will be publishing them for you here in the blog, so keep in touch! Until then, best of luck to all of you!
