We offer remote study options across our undergraduate and graduate programs – all delivering the same academic outcomes as you’d achieve through face-to-face teaching on campus.
Why choose remote learning?
Remote learning at Les Roches puts you in control of your academic journey. There’s no need to delay or defer your studies if you can’t travel to campus. And that’s important in a fast-changing world where knowledge is power.
With us, the remote student experience goes far beyond what you learn in the classroom. You are fully plugged in to our student community, with opportunities for regular one-on-one conversations with your faculty, plus access to the same personalized career services as our on-campus students.
You can also join our popular clubs and societies; and put yourself forward to become a Student Ambassador. It’s remote learning, but it never feels remote.
How we teach remotely
We were the first Swiss institution to deploy HyFlex, a simultaneous face-to-face and remote mode of teaching and learning. This allows remote students to attend classes live or watch recordings if that’s more convenient for their time zone or internet connectivity.
The taught classes form just part of your studies. At Bachelor level, our bespoke platform Les Roches Connect also features live culinary demonstrations, guest speaker interviews and interactive challenges such as cocktail/mocktail making contests.
At postgraduate level, we assign projects to virtual teams that mix on-campus and remote students, with in-class assessments mirrored by online versions. All remote students also receive a two-year window in which to join the business field trips that are such an important – and popular – element of graduate study at Les Roches.
