TUITION & OTHER FEES

Tuition & other fees cover

Tuition, school nurse, some events and facilities (i.e. conferences, leisure and sports activities, library), administration costs, professional uniform, laundry and ironing of professional clothes (kitchen and service), other school supplies, visitor’s tax, cantonal and communal taxes, administration charges for the visa and work permit (excluding where there are legal and court charges, if the visa or permit is refused and an appeal is made), administration charges for internship(s), Swiss VAT, membership for the Alumni Association of Les Roches, tutoring (when necessary), industry presentations, examiner fees and career advice. Any unused services, clothes, school supplies, benefits, etc. included in the tuition fees are non refundable.

Tuition & other fees do not cover

Damage deposit, books, accident insurance (professional and non-professional), health insurance, parking, special / single accommodation, personal expenses including travel to and from the school and the internship site, pocket money.

ROOM, BOARD AND PARKING OPTIONS

Room fees include accommodation in a double room in Bluche or Crans-Montana and full board includes 3 meals a day, 5 days a week; brunch and dinner on Saturday, Sunday.

Any students living off campus, subject to the campus director’s written approval, and students on the BBA / PGD / MBA program living at Les Cheminots, can choose not to have dinner and weekend meals at a discount of CHF 850.- per semester. 

 

  • Standard Double room - CHF. 5,590.- 
  • Single room supplement (in addition to the Standard Double room fee) CHF. 1,200- / All buildings
  • Parking Permit / CHF. 800.-

For Peter’s Farm, TV and refrigerator are included in the above price. Les Cheminots apartments accommodate 2 to 6 students in either double or single bedrooms, have TV, fridge, shared work / study area, equipped kitchen and bathroom.

Please note: a non-smoking policy applies in all the residence bedrooms.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Application Fee

An application fee of CHF. 100.- is required with each application. Complete credit card information must be provided. The fee can also be paid by bank transfer. This fee is not refundable.

Pre-payment

New students: upon reception of an official acceptance, a pre-payment of CHF. 3,000.- must be paid within 30 days from the date of the acceptance letter. This payment is due in Swiss francs by bank transfer, check or credit card. This pre-payment confirms your place in the program and is refundable if a written cancellation is posted before the 15th of November (for winter intake) or 15th of May (for summer intake). The pre-payment is deducted from the first semester’s invoice, not an additional fee.

 

Please note that in case the student postpones the start of his/her study to the next semester, the pre-payment is forfeited.

Returning students: Before returning to school, a pre-payment of CHF. 3,000.- must be paid within 30 days from the date of the pro-forma invoice, in Swiss francs, by bank transfer, check or credit card. This pre-payment confirms your place in the semester and is refundable if a written cancellation is posted before the 15th of November (for spring intake) or 15th of May (for fall intake). The pre-payment is deducted from the semester’s invoice.

Damage Deposit

A refundable damage deposit of CHF. 1,000.- is required to cover any damage caused to Les Roches property by the student during his/her studies. It is payable at the time of the first semester’s invoice and is refundable three months after final check-out.

Payments

Payments should be made in full, in Swiss francs, no later than the 15th of November for the winter intake and no later than the 15th of May for the summer intake. Payments can be made by bank transfer, check or credit card. Students will not be permitted to begin their studies until payment for the semester has been received. Swiss Resident permit, academic certificates and degrees are only delivered / awarded when all fees and charges have been paid.

Refund Policy and Review of Fees

The tuition fees paid for each semester are non refundable. If a student is dismissed or withdraws, only the fees covering the accommodation and board are reimbursed (proportional to the number of weeks remaining in the semester). Les Roches reserves the right to review and modify the tuition fees of each semester at any time and without notice. To maintain the standards expected from the Institution, the fees are reviewed annually in July / August.

Health Insurance

Students are required to have health insurance recognized by the Swiss authorities (information about exemption and validation of foreign insurance plans are available from Admissions).  Students in semester 1 are required to take the health insurance provided by the school or provide a valid insurance certificate. If students fail to provide this information, they will automatically be registered by the institution at the most competitive rate which may vary from one semester to another (the current rate is CHF. 685.- per semester).

Other Expenses

It is estimated that students require a minimum sum of CHF. 400.-/500.- per month to finance their out-of-pocket expenses such as snacks and drinks, entertainment, personal office supplies, laundry and any other personal expenses.

Uniform for Direct Entry Students

Direct entry students to HO II (semester 3) of the SHA  Diploma will be charged CHF. 960.- for their uniform and direct entry students to HO III (semester 5), will be charged CHF. 710.-. Students progressing from the English language course to the first semester of one of the programs, will only pay the difference, since the academic uniform is included in the fee of the Language course.

Internships

All students are requested to complete their internship(s) in establishments approved by Les Roches. Some countries can be restricted by Government visa and work permit policies as well as language requirements. Although internships are generally paid by the employer, the remuneration received cannot be expected to finance studies at Les Roches.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS FOR SWISS NATIONALS AND C PERMIT HOLDERS

Swiss passport holders and students living in Switzerland with a C permit, can benefit from a special reduction on the tuition fee as follows:

 

  • Swiss Hotel Association Diplôme: total reduction of CHF. 15,000.- (CHF. 5,000 per year)
  • BBA completition: Total reduction of CHF. 5,000 (CHF. 2,500.- per semester)
  • BSc program: total reduction of CHF. 19,750.-
  • MBA program: a total reduction of CHF. 5,000.- (or CHF. 1,250.- per module)
  • Postgraduate program: reduction of CHF. 2,500.- per semester.

Students Loans for Canadian Students

 

In Canada, government students assistance, which can include loans, bursaries and grants, is available for Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and refugees or protected persons with assessed financial need. The federal and provincial/territorial assistance programs are jointly administered through the student's province/territory of residence under the Canada Student Loan Program.
